Getting started

Templates and one-command sites

InsightSite is built on Nuxt 4: admin, database, languages, SEO and plugins live in the base layer, so a new site is "the base + a template".

Create a site with one command

# nothing to install first
npx -y https://insightme.top/create-nuxtcms.tgz my-site --template corporate

# inside a project that already has nuxtcms
npx nuxtcms create my-site --template blog
node node_modules/nuxtcms/scripts/create.mjs my-site --template docs

Then:

cd my-site
pnpm install
pnpm dev # open /zh/setup to create the admin (demo content optional)

The project comes with a pinned package.json, nuxt.config.ts (extends the base, declares message files), main.css (Tailwind + Nuxt UI + base sources), i18n/, a .env with random local secrets, wrangler.toml, .cloudflare.env.example, README and AGENTS.md. Go live:

cp .cloudflare.env.example .cloudflare.env # API token + account id
pnpm deploy:init # creates D1 / R2 / Pages, writes database_id back, sets secrets
pnpm deploy:migrate # migrations + build + deploy

Templates

TemplateTypeDescription
corporatefreecompany site: products, news, about, contact, optional demo content (default)
blogfreeblog / news site: featured and latest posts, categories
docsfreedocumentation: Nuxt Content, grouped sidebar, table of contents
premiumcredits / planbuy on the template gallery, then --license <key>

npx nuxtcms templates (or create.mjs --list) lists everything, including premium templates on the hub.

Anatomy

templates/<id>/
template.json metadata: name, description, category, primary color, price, features
files/ files copied over the new site (pages, components, app.config, content...)

A template only contains what differs from the default site; the skeleton is generated by the CLI. Navigation is configurable from app.config.ts (nuxtcms.nav) without overriding the layout.

Publishing premium templates

Hand the template folder to a hub administrator, who lists and prices it under Plugin hub → Templates. Template licenses are not bound to a domain and can create any number of projects.
